It is the policy of the Charter Street Tenant Association that discriminatory actions of any nature by persons in the 27 Charter Street building or on its grounds are forbidden. To the extent that there are violations of this policy, tenants should bring them to the attention of the Board of Directors for appropriate action.

MINUTES OF MARCH 7th OPEN BOARD MEETING (Highlights)

The Board of Directors held their bi-monthly meeting on Friday, March 7, 2025. The meeting, which was open to the public, was attended by the full Board, as well as eight non members.

Donna Twohig was made Recording Secretary.

Treasurer Sue Barnes reported that there is $1, 089.07 in the Association’s operating account, as well as $3,154.15 in the fundraising budget, which is used to help defray the cost of day trips, and other projects. An itemized statement of expenditures may be requested in the CSTA office, Suite #1005.

President Steve Gagnon announced that a proposal for new, sturdier chairs for the Community Room has been sent to and approved by SHA Director, Cathy Hoog.

The question of timely elevator repairs was raised by Board member, John Hamilton, this being an on-going cause of concern. The issue was to be raised at a Zoom meeting with Director Hoog at a meeting scheduled for March 10th. As yet, the results of said meeting are unavailable.

A REMINDER THAT ALL BOARD MEETINGS ARE OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. IT IS AT THESE MEETINGS THAT ANYONE CAN HAVE THEIR SAY REGARDING ISSUES IN THE BUILDING AND ATTENDANCE IS ENCOURAGED. THE BOARD WILL NEXT MEET at 1:00 pm on May 9, in the Community room.

CAPITAL PLAN SURVEY

This Spring, the Salem Housing Authority will hold its Annual Capital Planning Meeting.

The CSTA has polled residents to get their opinions on issues they would like to see improved and/or changed at 27 Charter Street. The results of the poll have been tallied and put into a Letter of Recommendation to be presented at the upcoming open meeting.
